18 Months

I can't believe Beckett turned 18 months old yesterday! He has really grown up in the past 6 months and I am so excited about the little boy he is becoming.
Beckett is exploring new things everyday. He is so interested in everything! He loves the computer, books, his slide, his drum machine, golf balls bouncing on the tile floor, cell phones, remotes, and dvd's. He is constantly on the look out for anything we may have hidden from him- our phones for instance- and he can find almost anything! He has figured out how to get into drawers, and he understands how to open doors, but thankfully he's not quite tall enough to turn the knobs yet.
He is extremely vocal! He jabbers and is very expressive. Our pediatrician even pointed out today that he talks with his hands :) He is learning new words daily but some of his favorites are video, blankie, night night, outside, Dominic, apple, eat, daddy, hi, and bye bye. He has also learned to say "eeewwww" when trying to bite our feet or shoes (such a "fun" "game".) He can crack himself up- I tell Kenny that once he starts talking I think he might be a comedian.

He still hasn't met a stranger. He might be shy when first seeing new people, but he will quickly warm up to them and start jabbering their ear off. He is also very loud. He does not know the meaning of "quiet voice" and he will scream randomly, anywhere, for any reason. Today we were at Starbucks with Lissette and Beckett was screaming randomly and he would run up to the people sitting at tables or in chairs and try to see what they were doing. He also had a game of hide and seek going with one of the guys that works there. Luckily they weren't busy!
His growth has slowed down, sort of. At the Dr. this morning his height was 32.5 ins (grew a half inch) and weight was 27 lbs (gained 2 lbs). He's in the 56th and 64th percentiles respectively. This is the closest he's ever been to "average".

He has 16 teeth and loves to brush them! He enjoys playing by himself and with others. He loves to be outside! He still loves the dogs and, if he has food, they love him, otherwise they just tolerate him. He loves to read books. His Mimi got him his very first library card this week and we discovered that he LOVES the library! He also loves to climb stairs, pillows, people, chairs, anything!

We've had some pretty fun adventures in the past 6 months, and the rest of the year looks to be just as exciting! I can't wait to see what he does next and what his personality will develop into.
He's such a wonderful little boy!
