Beckett hit the 14 month milestone this week! As usual, I can't believe that another month has gone by. He really is quite an exciting little boy, getting into things faster than we can turn our heads! He loves to be in the kitchen with me while I'm cooking so that he can play with the dog food bowls, pull his bibs out of their drawer, and hide between the fridge and the wall...

Beckett loves to play in his room. His Thomas the Train table is set up in there, and while he hasn't mastered the tracks yet, he loves to play with the trains. Recently, he has learned to climb on top of the table- a little trick that we are watching very closely.

He is an "avid reader", and actually has the patience for us to read him a book once, then he wants to flip through the pages faster than we can read the words :) He knows where we keep his books and he will go get them and sit and entertain himself, his Mimi (a teacher) loves this!

Beckett can say a few more words now, though you really have to listen for them. He gabbers all day and I think he really thinks he's carrying on a big boy conversation. Our favorite words are: wooow, banana (ma-na-na), monkey (mon-ey), doggie, bad dog (ba da), body (not sure how he learned it but it's pretty funny, he pats his tummy and says "ba-dee"), and what (whaaaa-t).

He also can tell you what sound a monkey makes "o o o o ah ah ah", and where his nose and tongue are!

He is so busy, I'm surprised he hasn't worn a path in the carpet! He can amuse himself for a long time walking from the dining room, to the living room- picking up a toy, to the entry way- drop the toy on the tile to see if it bounces, to his room to play with his alphabet train and train table, back to the living room to get blankie, and then repeat! He is such a bundle of energy and we laugh because he leaves a path of destruction behind him! We try to have him "help" pick up before he goes to bed, but he just thinks it's a game- he dumps it out, we pick it up! He'll learn :)

We have discovered what a good climber Beckett is. He loves to get on top of his train table, and the couch, and our bed. The good news is that he is also now capable of getting himself down! He finally recognizes where the edge is and can scoot down, we still have to be careful that he doesn't land on the dogs, but he's getting much better at that too!

He is still a little picky about what he will and won't eat. He loves fruit (especially bananas) ravioli, pasta, mac n' cheese, green beans, corn, and peas. He will not eat string cheese, most meats (unless they are mixed with something) and he doesn't like to have things twice in a row (no left overs for this kid).
He is also getting "better" at throwing fits, he's not at the expert level yet, but he's well on his way to figuring out what to do when we say no or take something away from him.
He loves to get into cabinets and drawers and is discovering things we didn't even know we had!
We hear all the time, and witness ourselves everyday, that he really is such a happy boy! He is full of smiles- showing off his one year molars among his 12 teeth. He can give "kisses", he loves meeting new people, he also enjoys watching people, especially if they are having a conversation.
We are truly blessed and love watching him grow and discover new things! He's the best little boy, and we love him more and more everyday!
