Christmas Adventures: Part 4

Thursday: Christmas Eve-Eve
On Thursday evening Beckett and I went to my mom's house and met my brother, Aunt, and Grandma there.  We had a yummy dinner and then decorated Christmas cookies!  The tradition: My mom, brother and I have always decorated cookies together around Christmas.  We always welcome any extra helpers! As you can see, Beckett was not too interested this year.  He was interested in my brother's shoes... they were a little big though!

Friday: Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve we went to mass at 5, it was PACKED! I wasn't surprised, but it was kind of crazy! It was a good thing we were in the back because Beckett was not interested in sitting still :) again, not surprised.
After mass, we went to my Grandma's house for dinner. The tradition: for a long time now my mom's family has been celebrating Christmas together on Christmas Eve evening.  We have such a great time getting together and listening to my uncles tell funny stories.  This year GG had a special present for Beckett, something he could play with while we were eating :)  The first present Beckett opened this year was a remote control car from GG.  We all got a good laugh because my cousin Christopher had more fun playing with it than anyone else- and he's 20 something! Beckett loves this car! He gets so excited to race it across the floor and it will even flip over if it runs into things.  He was so excited to play with it!

After dinner we headed home and Beckett had one more present to open. The tradition: I have started getting Beckett Christmas Pajamas to open on Christmas Eve. This year they were super cute pj's that reminded me of the Polar Express movie :)

 Quick picture before bed.
Stalling before bed time. Looking cute in my glasses though :)

Saturday: Christmas Day
Beckett woke up to some fun surprises! I was so excited for him to get to play with his tricycle- and he loves it! He loves for us to push him around and when one of us gets tired he'll say "mamma (or daddy), it's your turn"! It's so cute :)
My mom and bother came over for Christmas breakfast. The tradition: this was the 4th year Kenny and I have had my mom and brother over for breakfast on Christmas morning (it should be the 5th but because of the snow/ice last year we couldn't make it), I make Sugar Plum Pull Apart Bread, and we open presents.  This year was yummy and fun!
Beckett was hiding out in the fridge...
 Opening gifts from Mimi...
...helping Daddy and Mamma open presents...

 "Elliot's turn!"
 Christmas dogs!

Coloring, watching Uncle Elliot put his desk together, and holding Elliot's phone... so much to do for a little boy!

After celebrating with my mom and brother, we went to Kenny's Mom's house to do it all again! The tradition: we have always spent Christmas day with the Roda's eating, opening gifts, and having a great time. This year Beckett was really excited because Uncle Charly got him a holster with 2 toy guns, he walked around saying "I'm a cowboy!"

We are so blessed and this is the time of year where, I think, you are more aware of your blessings than any other time.  We try to teach Beckett to be grateful always, but especially around the holidays when we celebrate the traditions, family, and faith that give us our foundation for a wonderful life!
