Chicago: Road Trip!

Our vacation to Chicago was so much fun! So much fun that I can't fit it all in one blog... so this is the first, and there will be at least 1 more... maybe 2... or 3 :)


Kenny and I have been trying to take a real vacation (not just a long weekend trip) for a while now and with our work schedules and other family events we've put it off and changed plans so many times! Last Sunday, we finally hit the road for Chicago!

We left very early because we had decided to stop in St. Louis to see a Cardinals baseball game.  This was Beckett's first baseball game!

I think that Beckett was so glad to be out of the car, and luckily our seats were in a very uncrowded and shaded area.  For these reasons, we made it all the way to the 7th inning stretch before Beckett got fussy and wanted to go!

The Cardinals ended up winning the game and we had a great time! It was the perfect way to break up the long drive.  Once we left St. Louis it really felt like the only thing we saw the rest of the way to Chicago was corn fields... and more corn fields...

Hummm... has Boone T. Pickens been here? :)

The best part of the road trip for Beckett was his new portable DVD Player.  He LOVED watching his videos in the car.  Kenny and I now know them all by heart... but we both agree it was the best investment we made for our vacation!

We made it to Chicago safe and sound and in time to eat dinner!  The 11 hour road trip was just the beginning...
