We thought the water would be too cold for Beckett to want to play in... we were wrong! He had so much fun in the rocks, he didn't want to leave.
I can't blog about Chicago and not mention the food! We ate at some great places, but when we got home Kenny and I agreed we would not eat hot dogs, pizza, or french fries for a long time!
Portillo's
Giordano's Stuffed Pizza
My favorite- Ben & Jerry's... so good!
Our waiter at Bubba Gump was so nice! And he was an expert in Forest Gump trivia! He even stumped Kenny :)
Our last day in Chi town, Thursday, we hung out at the hotel in the morning- it was nice to relax! And we headed to Navy Pier for the afternoon. The views were amazing!
We took a boat ride too! It was fun, but Beckett was not too happy to have to sit still for 30 minutes.
Much happier running with the wind in his hair... lol
He loved climbing on this big anchor too.
Our last stop was at the Chicago Children's Museum on the Pier. Before we went in there was a show with Pirates! It was nice because we had a little while to wait before we could go into the museum, so this was a good way to keep Beckett entertained.
I was really surprised by how much fun Beckett had. I knew he'd enjoy the hands on exhibits, but I was worried about the crowds. Beckett had a blast and the swarms of other kids didn't bother him at all! He even went into this fire truck all by himself!
This slide was cool because as he slid down it there were bells that rang! It was definitely one of his favorite things!
Chicago was so much fun! We really enjoyed our time there. We were very happy to get home. It was so wonderful to spend a whole week together as a family without any interruptions from work or anything else. Being around Beckett was wonderful because we were able to see all of the things that make his personality so special. We are so blessed to have such a happy little boy and we completely enjoyed our time with him and getting to see him discover new things in a new place!
